TRAIL TESTED BY BLACK DOG
We used to carry a small 12 volt compressor on our rides, but once it gave up the ghost when I needed it most (fixing a flat trailside in 90 degree heat in the baking sun) I began to entertain other options. Luckily for me, my riding partner had one of these slick Innovations Air Chucks with him. He had never used it (lucky him) so I got to break it in. Needless to say, it worked like a charm, which is the only reason we offer them. The Innovations Air Chuck SL (SuperLight) is very small but allows you to control the amount of air that is used from the CO2 cartridge. Unlike a lot of cheaper versions, which only allow you to use the entire cartridge in seconds and you had better do it right because you only get one shot. This tool is extremely well made and so light, you won't even know you have it with you.
This tool uses a standard 16 gram THREADED CO2 cartridge, readily available at any sporting goods store. This product works great for bicycles as well.
This particular unit comes with one CO2 cartridge. We generally recommend carrying several cartridges to enable you to get sufficient pressure into the tube to seat the bead, especially for a rear tires, which is where I seem to get ALL my flats.
