Black Dog Cycle Works Skid Plate for the KTM 950 & 990 ADVENTURE

We have also enhanced the side stand protection for even better coverage - something the other manufacturers don't even offer! Made from 5mm aluminum and finished in a black based "silver vein" powdercoat inside and outside. The skid plate will mount using the existing mounting locations and using the stock screws and rubber bushings. The plate was designed to cover more of the critically exposed lower front end of the 950. This added protection is vital to protect the sensitive components located at the bottom of the engine..

- Integrates protection for the engine case, clutch cover, ignition cover, side stand switch and side stand mount.

- The front & rear mounting tabs are now made of thicker material, making them much stronger so they hold up to severe impacts better.

- Improved side stand protection that includes an enlarged wedge that covers the side stand from bottom impacts as well.

- As always, the front edge of the skid plate is tapered to provide improved ground clearance and the rugged construction remains.

- The latest enhancement (added April 2010) include the installation of a "Shok Blok" which braces the skid plate on the bottom of the engine case to help absorb those REALLY big hits.
